David, 07/03/2023Probably the least well made Makita tool. I have to replace these yearly for site work, as they are cheap I treat them as a consumable and expect to replace annually. I imagine they would be fine for diy or occasional site use. On the plus side, they are light and smaller than most 18v multitools including later Makita models which are too bulky. I like the bolt fixing, opens up a bigger selection of blades.

Mark F, 18/09/2021Not a long term review, but seems usual Makita quality so I have no concerns there. Nicely rubberised, and the work light is very useful (unlike the newer DTM51 which doesn't have one). Not "quick change", but it only takes moments anyway with the on-board hex key storage. Lost a star on value for money due to price compared to the newer model, but that's probably because I'm not the only one prioritising the light over quick change.
