DozyMareDesigns, 03/07/2023I currently have the Makita RP0900X and decided to buy this, because I’m slowly upgrading to cordless (and better quality) tools. This is a really nice bit of kit and it’s nice to be able to not have to worry about an extension reel/cord for power. It’s light, well made, is easy to set up and micro-adjust and this router isn’t only just a trimmer, but has accessories available to turn it into a plunge router (for an extra £50ish). On the front are two buttons; one to unlock/lock the tool and the other is the power button to turn it on. It also has speed settings, so you can adjust the speed if needed. The detail I do like, is that it comes with the two standard flat spanners to undo the collet, but there’s also a button to press on the side which locks the spindle in place, so, if you want, you only need to use the biggest spanner (22mm) and a pressing of the spindle lock button to undo it. This means, if the button stops working for whatever reason (read: being heavy handed), you then have the option to still use the two spanner’s to undo the router bit - a great option! So all in all, it’s a great power tool. It looks very robust (although, having only used it a few times so far, I can’t really comment on it’s reliability as yet), is a good price compared to DeWalt, to which their equivalent is £300 (but is a bit more powerful in use) and has some nice details and an ability to use a plunge base, etc. Highly recommended.

KEVIN COOPER, 12/08/2022If your buying this router to use with a trend hinge jig make sure you buy the plunge base at the same time otherwise the two do not go together. It took me 1 week and a lot of calls to figure that out, other then that the router is as reliable and easy to use as all makita kit.
