This is my 2nd saw first 1 lasted 3 years (very light work) then just stopped working. My 2nd saw last 2 week used 3 times then just stopped working like my first. All my 14 tools are Makita and never had a problem with any apart from this saw

Chose this because I have Makita tools so no real alternative but decent saw. Would be nice if the guide could be kept on the saw when not in use to stop it getting bent, lost or stolen. Not done enough with it to give a true appraisal but it cuts wood!

Compact and lightweight for ease of use anywhere. Joist hanger, LED lights and other features add to the value of this unit.

Bought to replace an older model which only worked with maximum 3Ah batteries. This one is now compatible with the home recent 4Ah + batteries which I have. Will be upgrading over time as I hate having some older tools which only operate on 3Ah (max) and others which happily work the more powerful ones. Yes, I could saw bits off the older tools as per YouTube videos but I can sell on the older ones if they are not 'doctored'.

Good light weight cordless saw

A good tool, hardy, comfortable and fits well in a suitcase with tools, but the disk that comes with the kit did not last very long.

Superb quality as always with Makita and also a fantastic company to make another purchase with.

Super Circular saw

Brilliant piece of kit, typical Makita tooling. It replaces the same one which died after 4 years of almost daily use. Auto torque adjustment is useful. No hesitation in recommending any Makita LXT tool. Found FFX had the best price and it was a hassle free purchase and the saw was delivered quickly. Make sure you register for the extended warranty.

I took my first one to New Zealand to help my son with his timber house project and left him with it it proved so useful (and more expensive in NZ). Them bought myself another as soon as I was back. Wonderful tool especially with the thin Makita blade.

Godsend tool

OK I am a Makita user with their 18V battery system so not totally independent. That said, this is a terrific tool, usual Makita high quality, comfortable grip, easy to use, very powerful, not too noisy and with an excellent warranty. If you want to use a circular saw with no worries of cutting through a feed cable and you are not committed to any battery eco system yet then Makita makes a great mid range product and this saw is no exception.

This extremely well engineered and designed tool is light (compared to others I've tried), powerful and highly capable. All the controls and blade adjustments are positive and robust, well set out and intuitive. The tool is quiet in use and operates without vibration. Starting the blade with the trigger is drama free as the tool does not flick about as some do. I was very pleasantly surprised at how long the full charge of a 5Ah battery lasted in use.

All as expected and very prompt delivery.

Great bit of kit I was a bit dubious about it’s capability but I’m very pleased it cut through worktops with ease using a 5ah battery

Being honest after having my other makita model stolen I had to replace it, whilst I was in the process I decided to up grade it. Overall it does the job and has plenty of power However it’s much heavier and more of an issue to use having all the gadgets on it doesn’t make it cut any better. If I had my choice again I wouldn’t of purchased it.

Good for the job

My first circular saw bought for a shed building project. First cut was at full depth through a sleeper and it went through like a knife through butter. Very impressed. Lightweight and easy to use. I used it with the 4.0ah battery to construct a 5m x 4m shed base from 5x2's with 4x4 supports and some oak sleeper offcuts and did it comfortably on one charge. Wish I had bought one sooner. It is a tool that I will be happy to reach for at any opportunity.

avoid using this company for now there was a mistake on my side corrected within 2 mins then goods still sent to wrong address i admit my original mistake but was sorted easily with a offer of refund this however was just talk ! its such a shame previously they been exceptional but i feel until they full staffed AVOID sorry but other company's out there coping with the limited staff

Great tool but think it could benefit from a laser guide. Perhaps there is a good reason Makita did not build one in. Otherwise still a great tool relatively light and would recommend it.
