What a great tool , especially if you don't have a head for heights.

Very pleased with product

Easy to use, as long as you already have DeWalt batteries, and surprisingly effective. Cut through some 6” branches easily. Can be used either 2m or 3m long. Very pleased so far and it makes loping those higher branches easier and safer not having to climb up.

Quality piece of kit. Three sections, the middle one can be omitted giving two lengths. Quite heavy even though aluminium.

Brilliant product as you would expect from Dewalt. We fitted with a 5ah battery and used to cut a lot of bushes and trees on the site we are working on and didn't use that much battery life, still had a couple of bars on the battery. Only thing you need to add is some chain oil to keep the chain sharp. Brought from FFX and although I had a problem with the delivery driver not doing as instructed . FFX sent on the day ordered and very quickly dealt with my queries. Will defiantly deal with and buy from again.

Built to last with excellent range, thanks to the included extension pole. Dewalt tools are well designed and reliable. This pole saw can be a little heavy on the cutting end due to the fact that the motor is located next to the chain, but this is common on most electric pole saws.

Perfect for reaching high branches without the need to use ladders.

Quality is excellent as expected from DeWalt. You need to buy some chainsaw oil before first use.

Can be a little too long, would be better if the sling could be moved higher to provide better support.

Nice little unit, a little top heavy when extended to full length but it's what you would expect. Apart from that, does a good job, very happy to have purchased it.

After a few goes, got used to it and was able to handle it easily even with the extension.

It cuts well and easy to use closer to with no extra extension tube . Fully extended however. the motor being in the head unit means the extra weight makes it quite unwieldy and difficult to control.

Excellent easy to use

Good tool. Very handy. Just be aware that the middle couing comes loose sometimes and tou need to stop and tighten it. Apart from that, I managed to completely cut down 2 x 15 ft conifer trees with out a ladder in site and saved me £800 for a pro to come and do it!

Very good versatile garden tool.

I was concerned that an 18v machine might be a bit lightweight but this is a superb bit of kit, its removed branches of around 6" diameter and saved its cost in "Arborist" charges already. Highly recommended.

Great machine good company to deal with

A useful gardening tool. Thin may be pricier than manual garden loppers but it does get through work rather rapidly and I feel well worth it. Obviously, being a power tool, particularly a chain saw, it needs more safety considerations than manual loppers. I bought a bare unit because I already have a couple 5Ah and a 4Ah batteries for my other cordless tools which last me well for the pole saw, lighter than the recommended 9Ah. Some reviews have suggested that this unit is heavy but I haven't compared it with other similar units so can't really make a fair judgement on it. I do find the trigger grip a bit uncomfortable after prolonged use. On the whole, really please with my purchase.

Mixed opinions about this pole saw, which I primarily bought due to battery compatibility with all my other DeWalt power tools. Positives = seems well made; cutting performance is good; 5Ah batteries last a long time. Negatives = the unit is too long in non-extended mode which means that it can be unwieldy when using it 'close quarters'. I understand why DeWalt would want to keep this to a 3 section design (and perhaps, cynically, why they don't want it to be too similar to a chain saw i.e. make you buy two separate tools) but it would be far more usable if the extension pole was longer and the pole connected to the saw was shorter.

Unfortunately after using for around 20minutes there was significant amount of play in the pole connectors. The saw head could move around 20cm with the amount of play in the shaft connectors, rather dangerous for a pole saw! FFX customer services were excellent in swiftly collecting and refunding the faulty tool.

first class bit of kit brought this from FFX on a fairly good deal but it is still expensive but you get what you pay for

Great product

Was really exited to get on using the chainsaw high pruner . Sadly i find it really top heavy creating awkward balance problems with the shoulder strap being somewhat pointless as it didnt help in balancing the unit owing to its position close to the hand already holding the weight . Anything other than near vertical was hard work and i am pretty strong when it comes to working with kit like this

Great product, it speeds up so many jobs and I very rarely need to use a ladder.
